Funny Conversations

This semester I have been so lucky to room with my Best Friend Aimee. Every night is like a sleepover. My favorite part about living with Aimee is the funny conversations we have... or more likely, the funny lines she says.

For example
"No matter how hard you try, everyone turns into their mothers"

Or just now... as I confessed my shoe buying obsession.
"Shoes are the best things you can buy"
"Your feet never get fat, you can wear them for years, you never have to wash them, and you wear them everyday"

We constantly talk about how we never want to get married because no one else will be as fun to live with... but then go on Pinterest and ooze over all the recipes we will make for our future hubbies.

We let our room get way too messy and we stay up late watching Gossip Girl and live our lives vicariously through Blair and Serena. We sing Disney songs in the kitchen while Aimee makes food I can't eat. We fight over chores, but they are never real fights, we whine and complain but always keep each other in check.

Jason Mraz said it best "Lucky I'm in love with my best friend"

Don't You Dare Leaf Me

Cleaver title right? I am referring to the fall leaves that is. Punny right? Okay, so maybe me having to explain my jokes doesn't make them all that funny, but it's a step in the right direction?

As you all very well know, I love the fall. I love the colors, the crisp air, the smell of pumpkin bread (even when I make it up in my head), and I love fall music. I've been finding myself wanting to glue the leaves back on the trees, just so they stay a little while longer.

Other events that have been happening in my oh so exciting life: My Dad came in to town this past weekend... which doesn't feel like visiting much because my parents have come up several times this semester already (and they say they have no 'favorite child'). We went on a daddy daughter date to see an Italian Opera at BYU. It was a great show, I love that we have so many culture events here on campus.

Speaking of cultural events... after dinner with my dad on Friday, I headed over to Velour to see some local artists. Ashley and Zoe both had friends playing 2 of the bands, so I tagged along for the night. Velour is one of my favorite spots in Provo, really chill venue, with great music. I would go every weekend of it was free.

Highlight of my night: I got a signed CD (please notice that crooked heart, it's the most important part) from Nik Day. He had every girl weak at the knees.

Then things took a turn for the worst. I had a terrible sore throat for 2 days straight, talk about a tragedy... 2 whole days I tell you! So what else was I to do but figure out the terrible disease I must have contracted by googling my symptoms. Strep throat. So my dad took me to the BYU health clinic saturday morning to get antibiotics, when the doctor informed me that the only thing I was suffering from was over-dramatization. Throat spray and advil cured it.

Now its back to school for another week. Hello monday. The day where my "to-do" list seems to grow ever longer.

Until next time.

Because I'm Cool

Guys. Here is the thing.
Why do I love blogging at the most inopportune times?
Probably because that's all the time I have.
I could be doing this, I could be doing that. No.. I want to blog.
Why I do this to myself, I don't know.
But I do know that I love to blog. Whether anyone reads it or not. I like it. and I don't like studying. So that probably explains it.
So here I am blogging, while the responsible roommate types away to her finished assignments. Maybe she will think that I am typing a paper too with all this click clacking of the keyboard. I will let her think that.

So this is what I have been up to.

IMG_0368

It's called the Heidi braid. I found a tutorial on YouTube. Despite my frowney face... I loved it. Super easy, and when I wear them I feel like I have an alternate personality... One that belongs in Sound of Music.
**Hint: Girls think its cute. Boys don't.

IMG_0379

Construction on our street. I would love to melt those orange cones and fill the holes in the road with them. What an eye soar on my pretty walk home.

IMG_0364

As mentioned in a previous post. I love all things Italian. Including my "Italian Friends"... You could say we have quite the posse in my class. This past week we had a dinner group where we made this delicious meal and played Italian card games... which I won. I'll have to take it home and play with the Bergquist family, maybe then I'll have a shot at winning.

IMG_0393

Fall means tights. YES.

IMG_0382

It also means boots. BIGGER YES.

IMG_0374

Also, I was seriously tempted to run through the sprinklers the other day. How dreamy does this look? Am I really allowed to be in college when these thoughts constantly run through my head?

IMG_0396

Update: I'm never going to get married because I can't make chocolate chip cookies. Its just not in the cards for me I guess.

IMG_0403

Shopping at Costco. I feel like a mom every time I walk out to the car with my cart full of fruits and veggies. Trying to squeeze in as many peaches as I can before they are all gone. Also, my pumpkin obsession is on hold for the next 19 days. Our apartment started a no sweets diet for 21 days (2 days down and I haven't given up yet... its a miracle)

IMG_0401

Because of the diet previously mentioned... my scooby snacks turned into almonds in my art history class today.

When people ask "What have you been up to?" and the default answer is always "You know, just school and work and church stuff..." Maybe I should be as honest as I am in my blog and respond "Just the usual, jumping through sprinklers, planning out my future as cookie-less cook, watching YouTube tutorials, and eating almonds in class..." I wonder what the response would be.

gotta cut loose

How is it 9:00 at night and I've just finished all my work for the week.
I like you school, but I don't like you that much.

Now that its all done... I'm headed to see footloose with the girls.
I was an extra in the play my Freshman year so I'm getting ready for a major flashback. Although, I'm a little sad that Zach Effron isn't taking over for Kevin Bacon... actually I'm more than a little sad. But hey, whats a teeny bopper to do?

I wonder if this guy can out dance Kevin Bacon...

Hope you all have a superb weekend
(I was going to use the word lovely, but I think that phrase is way overdone in the blogging world. Just saying.)

I am obsessed with all things Italian.
And I am not using that term lightly.
The other day I was talking to Aimee and I legitimately asked "What if my husband is an Italian man and I have to go there in order to find him?! Then we can get married in the Rome temple and we can live in a villa in the country."
Yeah... borderline crazy for actually thinking that might be real.

Anyways. It all started with a $200 Italian text book. That part I wasn't too happy about. But I absolutely love learning a new language. Its so beautiful and I feel so classy whenever I say anything in Italian.

I've made great friends in my class and we started an underground Italian dinner group where we make Italian food, play Italian games, and you guessed it... speak Italian to each other. Granted I'm not that good... but I love it.

I went and spoke to my counselor today regarding classes and what I need to do in order to complete my Humanities major and she was laughing at me because of how giddy I was when she talked about the requirements. 5 semesters of Italian... I'm going to be a pro... & the best part is that I have to complete an internship, study abroad, or field study in Italy! I almost died right then and there. She talked to me about the wonderful experience it would be and how much it would benefit my education... I don't think she realized I was already sold.

So now I'm obsessed with all things Italian. Its kind of pathetic. Blasting Italian songs in the car, playing Italian games on my iphone, gelato.

Take me now.

p.s. who can count how many times I said Italian. Told you I was obsessed.

Halloween Costume

I LOVE dressing up for Halloween.
Last year Camille and I put a lot of effort into our astronaut costumes.
& I've been thinking a lot about how I can ever compare with last year.
Thank goodness for pinterest, they give me so many good ideas!

But I think I found a winner...
& I'm keeping it a secret.
Except I'm not good at secrets so I've already told 5 people.

What are some of the best costumes you have seen?

10 things that make me smile

1. 70 degree weather. Thanks for coming back fall.
2. Finishing my homework early! (that never happens)
3. Indian food leftovers.
4. Listening to music while I fall asleep
5. The feeling of anticipating a package in the mail.
6. My GLITTER PUMPKIN that I made with Jess
7. Missionary friends starting to come home!
8. Yellow gold. So pretty.
9. Getting to wear warm socks with boots.
10. Goal Setting.

Have a great day!

In full swing

Fall has been taken over by winter.
Thanks a lot jack frost.
In a matter of two days it went from 80 degrees to snowing.

But we are making the best of it here in Provo by complaining via facebook status' and staying indoors.

La Settimana

Not going to lie... I was super stressed out for this weekend.
My "To-Do" list seemed to be growing ever longer and my time seemed to be vanishing before my eyes. Despite all my worries (I tend to do that a lot), I managed to get all I needed to done.

First off... we rocked the Utah State Aggies this weekend. First decent football game we have had.

Second off... Farryn came in to town so it gave me an excuse to eat whatever I want... They don't have Zupas, Cafe Rio, Rubios, Jamba Juice, Smash burger, ect. on the east coast, therefore we must visit all these places before she goes back!

Third off... Pumpkin pumpkin pumpkin.

Fourth, and best, off... we had General Conference this weekend!I love General Conference, its amazing to know that we have a prophet on the earth today who can give us guidance and direction straight from our Heavenly Father. Who wouldn't be excited about that?! It was an amazing experience, and we even got to go to a live session in Salt Lake on Sunday Morning. I loved walking around the temple, running into old friends, and basking in the glory of so many cute mormon boys. You were thinking it too right?

Just some songs that are making it to my most played songs list.
Nothing soothes the soul more than a perfect melody.

Maybe tomorrow will go by fast.

She's in Love

I can finally believe that fall is here.
I've taken advantage and allowed myself to eat anything pumpkin flavored that I can lay my hands on... its a vegetable right? Okay, so maybe pumpkin cupcakes don't count.
Anyways, I've been enjoying watching the colors change, slowly from the top of the mountain and eventually here in Provo.

My best friend and roommate Jessica is getting married in less than 3 months. She asked me to take her engagements while her fiance is in town. I was so excited, and a little bit nervous, just because I wanted them to be perfect for her. So we drove up the canyon friday around 5:00 and it was perfect. I felt like I was in another world driving up that canyon with the sights and smells. I think I'll have to take some more scenic drives before the leaves are gone.

So here are a couple sneak previews of Jessica and Tyson.
They really love each other.
